The Maharashtra government has extended the e-KYC deadline for ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme beneficiaries to December 31, 2025. The move comes as a big relief to thousands of eligible beneficiaries of the scheme who were unable to complete the verification process by the earlier cut-off date of November 18, 2025.

The update on the scheme was shared by Maharashtra minister Aditi S Tatkare in a social media post. The post, written in Marathi, briefed the cause of the extension.

'Due to the natural calamities and other difficulties faced in the state over the past few days, many eligible women under the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana could not complete the e-KYC process on time. I am fully aware of these challenges. Taking these difficulties into serious consideration, the state government has made a very important decision', Tatkare wrote in the post.

The post further clarified that as per the updated guidelines, women whose husband or father has passed away, or those who are divorced, will need to complete their e-KYC individually and submit supporting documents.

  • An official death certificate (in case of a deceased husband or father)
  • A divorce certificate or court order (for divorced beneficiaries)

These documents must be submitted to the District Women and Child Development Officer.

Officials said the decision aims to ensure uninterrupted benefits for all rightful beneficiaries. Women who have not yet completed their e-KYC have been urged to use the extended timeline and finish the process at the earliest to avoid last-minute rush.
