Parliament committee presents five reports on public undertakings

The Parliament’s Committee on Public Undertakings (CoPU), under the chairmanship of BJP MP Baijayant Panda, on Tuesday presented five reports in the Lok Sabha, said an official release.

The tabled reports include-Audit Examinations related to Shipping Corporation of India and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). And Action Taken Reports on Comprehensive Examination of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC), and BSNL.

Moreover, the CoPU has identified key Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) for detailed examination from the following sectors: Defence, Atomic Energy, Shipping and Power, the release said.

In addition, the Committee will undertake a review of CPSUs operating in the Civil Aviation sector as another major subject of study during the year, it said.

Earlier, the CoPU had presented four reports. This included two comprehensive examination reports on IFCI Ltd and IREL (India) Ltd, and two audit reports on Design and Development (D&D) in Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). The committee also reviewed timely submission of Action Taken Notes (ATNS) on C&AG Paras/Reports (Commercial) by the Ministries/Departments.
