Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has upped its stake in One 97 Communications, the parent of Paytm, to over 5 per cent.
As per a regulatory filing on Tuesday, multiple schemes of Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund bought 26,31,244 shares of One 97 Communications in open market deals on August 11, 2024.
The acquisition adds 0.41 per cent to the fund’s holding in Paytm.
The filing did not specify the value of the transaction.
Post-purchase, Motilal Oswal MF’s total stake in the Noida-based digital payments company increased from 3,02,80,155 shares (4.74 per cent) to 3,29,11,399 shares, or 5.15 per cent.
More than 20 schemes, including Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund, Flexi Cap Fund, ELSS Tax Saver Fund, and several ETF schemes, participated in the acquisition, the filing noted.
The filing also mentioned that One 97 Communications has a total voting capital of 63,81,02,551 shares.
On Tuesday, shares of One 97 Communications closed 4.58 per cent higher at Rs 1,227.30 each on the BSE.
