Maruti Suzuki’s car sales rise 3% to nearly 1.93 lakh units in March

Total domestic passenger vehicle sales of the automaker were at 1,60,016 units in March compared with 1,61304 in March 2024.

Automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India recorded a marginal increase of 3% in its sales to 1,92, 984 units in March. The car maker sold 1,87,196 units in the same month a year ago.

However, the monthly sales declined by 3.2% in March from 1,99,400 units in February.

Total domestic passenger vehicle sales of the automaker were at 1,60,016 units in March compared with 1,61304 in March 2024.

Additionally, sales of mini segment cars, including Alto and S-Presso, declined to 11,655 units as against 11,829 units in the same month last year.

Meanwhile, sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR, declined to 66,906 units as compared to 69,844 units in the year-ago month.

Utility vehicles, consisting of Grand Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Jimny registered sales of 61,097 units last month as compared to 58,436 units earlier.

Sales of Eeco van were at 10,409 units against 12,019 units in March 2024, while that of light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 2,391 units as against 3,612 units earlier.
The company further announced that it exported 32,968 units compared to 25,892 units in the same month last year.
The Maruti Suzuki stock was trading at 11436.80 on BSE, down by 84.65 or 0.73% on Tuesday.
