Shares of Waaree Energies, India's largest solar PV module manufacturer and Premier Energies gained up to 7 percent on Tuesday after the United States imposed anti-dumping duty on southeast Asian peers.
Waaree Energies share price surged 8.22 percent to Rs 2,645 per share on the NSE. The counter opened gap-up with a gain of 3.1 percent in today's trading session. It has been on an upward trend for the last 8 trading sessions and is up 25 percent in the period.
Shares of Premier Energies too advanced, settling 1.64 percent higher at Rs 1,026 apiece. Intraday, it was up 7.98 percent to hit the day's high of Rs 1,090 per share on the NSE. It opened gap-up with a gain of 2.72 percent. The scrip has been rising for the last 8 days and is up 26 percent in the period.
According to a report on CNBC-TV18, the US on Monday imposed new duties as high as 3,521% on imports from Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand, after a probe which was sought by US-based solar manufacturers. These levies will be in addition to the new widespread tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
