IT major Infosys’ latest dividend payout has made the promoters of the company richer by a whopping Rs 2,330 crore. The Bengaluru-based IT company had announced a total dividend of Rs 43 per share, which includes an interim dividend of Rs 21 for FY25.
However, it was not just the promoters who more value to their net worth. The next-generation and in some cases even the third-generation made significant gains, a report by the Times of India said.
Rohan Murty, who is the son of co-founder Narayana Murthy, owns 6 crore shares that helped him make a whopping Rs 261.5 crore in dividends, TOI said. Murthy's daughter Akshata Murty's ownership of 3.8 crore shares added Rs 167 crore to her purse, according to the newspaper.
Among the grandkids of the Infosys co-founders, Nikita and Milan Shibulal Manchanda each pocketed Rs 26.3 crore in dividends, while Tanush Nilekani Chandra collected Rs 14 crore.
Among the third-generation, Ekagrah Rohan Murty is the youngest shareholder and earned Rs 6.5 crore in dividends, the report said.
Last year in 2024, Murthy’s grandson had made headlines when he received 15 lakh shares as gift from the former Infosys boss. The shares that constituted just 0.04 percent stake of the company was valued at over Rs 240 crore, sending the grandkid straight to the list of youngest millionaires in the country.
