    Operational Highlights

    Tata Steel India Operations

In the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, Tata Steel India reported a crude steel production of 5.26 million tons. The deliveries for the same period were 4.75 million tons. The company noted that maintenance-related shutdowns significantly impacted finished goods production, consequently affecting deliveries. Specifically, the reline of the G Blast Furnace in Jamshedpur and operations at Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) contributed to this decline. Tata Steel confirmed that operations have since resumed at NINL, and the reline of the G Blast Furnace is progressing as planned, with completion expected in July 2025.
The domestic deliveries for the quarter showcased varied performance across key verticals:
      • Automotive & Special Products: This vertical recorded deliveries of approximately 0.77 million tons. This performance was significantly bolstered by a 4% year-on-year (YoY) growth in hi-end products. A notable achievement in this segment was Tata Steel receiving grade approvals for ultra-high strength steel from its recently commissioned continuous annealing facility at Kalinganagar. This development is crucial as it positions the company on par with global leaders, enhancing its capability to cater to the growing demand for lightweighting and advanced mobility applications.
      • Branded Products & Retail: Deliveries in this vertical amounted to 1.46 million tons. Within this segment, Tata Tiscon contributed 0.48 million tons, while Tata Astrum and Tata Steelium together accounted for approximately 0.81 million tons.
      • Industrial Products & Projects: This vertical saw deliveries of 1.6 million tons, primarily driven by value-accretive segments such as Engineering and Ready-to-use solutions. The Engineering segment witnessed a 5% YoY growth, attributed to improved volumes in the Oil & Gas and Railways sectors. SmartF@B, the company's ready-to-use solutions, demonstrated robust growth of 66% YoY. During the quarter, Tata Steel successfully introduced India's first-ever corrosion-resistant air-cooled bars, specifically designed for coastal regions.

Furthermore, the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) from Tata Steel's e-commerce platforms, Tata Steel Aashiyana and DigECA, reached ₹1,350 crores, marking a substantial 39% increase year-on-year.

    Tata Steel Netherlands Operations

In the Netherlands, Tata Steel's liquid steel production for 1QFY26 was 1.7 million tons, with deliveries standing at 1.5 million tons. Both production and deliveries in this region showed a marginal increase on a year-on-year basis.

    Tata Steel UK Operations

Tata Steel UK reported deliveries of 0.6 million tons for the quarter. The company is currently serving its customers through the downstream processing of purchased substrate. Progress on the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) project is underway, with construction at Port Talbot on course to commence this month.

    Tata Steel Thailand Operations

For Tata Steel Thailand, the provisional production volume for 1QFY26 was 0.33 million tons, and delivery volumes were 0.34 million tons.
