The benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices are likely to open a gap-up on June 28 following cues from GIFT Nifty which is trading near 24,180.5.

Indian benchmark indices rallied for the third consecutive session on June 27, with Nifty crossing 24,000 for the first time supported by Information Technology and energy names.

At close, the Sensex was up 568.93 points or 0.72 percent at 79,243.18, and the Nifty was up 175.70 points or 0.74 percent at 24,044.50.

Asian Equities (Mixed)

Asian stocks were headed for a fifth straight month of gains on Friday, bolstered by the growing view that cooling inflation in the United States would allow the Federal Reserve to ease rates later this year.

US Equities (Marginally Higher)

Global stock indexes edged higher on Thursday, while U.S. Treasury yields declined slightly after a series of U.S. economic reports suggested ebbing momentum.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 36.26 points, or 0.09%, to 39,164.06, the S&P 500 gained 4.97 points, or 0.09%, to 5,482.87 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 53.53 points, or 0.30%, to 17,858.68.

US Bond Yield (Gains)

The US 10-year yield rose 32 basis points higher at 4.30 and the 2-year Treasury yield was up 18 basis points at 4.72 in the early trade on Friday.

Dollar Index (Up)

The dollar index, which measures the US currency’s strength against major currencies, was trading at 106.02, up 0.11 percent from its previous close of 105.90.

Oil prices rose in early Asian trading hours on Friday, setting up a third straight weekly jump, as concerns about supply problems from escalating geopolitical tensions and weather-related disruptions offset signs of weak demand.

LME Commodities (Down)

LME commodity prices were trading mostly lower in the early trade on Friday, Lead and Aluminium prices were down 0.5 percent each. However, Nickel prices were up 0.28 percent.
