On Wednesday, December 10, Foreign Portfolio Investors/ Foreign Institutional Investors (FPIs/FIIs) net sold Indian equities worth Rs 1,651 crore. Meanwhile, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought Indian equities worth Rs 3,752 crore, as per data on the exchanges.
DIIs bought shares worth Rs 16,869 crore, while offloading marginally higher at Rs 13,117 crore while FIIs bought shares worth Rs 13,352 crore and sold shares worth Rs 11,700 crore, during the session.
For the year so far, FII/FPIs remain net sellers, offloading Indian equities worth Rs 2.72 lakh crore. On the other hand, DIIs added strength to the market with their buying spree reaching Rs 7.33 lakh crore for the year so far.

Market view
At close, the Sensex was down 275.01 points or 0.32 percent at 84,391.27, and the Nifty was down 81.65 points or 0.32 percent at 25,758.
Eicher Motors, Hindalco, HDFC Life, Tata Steel and Adani Ports were among the top gainers on the Nifty; while losers were InterGlobe Aviation, Eternal (Zomato), Trent, Bharti Airtel and Apollo Hospitals.
Among sectors, metal and media indices rose 0.4% each, while IT, capital goods, realty, consumer durables, PSU Bank, private bank declined 0.5-1 percent.
On today's market, Vikram Kasat, Head Advisory, PL Capital noted that Indian stock markets continued to slide for a third consecutive session on Wednesday, as investors remained cautious ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s policy announcement. "Going ahead market participants will monitor global sentiment closely after the Fed commentary, along with early Asian cues for tomorrow," he added.
