Shares of Defence electronic systems supplier Bharat Electronics are bucking the selloff across the pack after the management shared a confident order inflow picture on May 20, and said it expects Rs 30,000 crore worth of order for Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missiles (QRSAM) by March or April next year.

BEL added that it is also expecting an order regarding corvettes for the Indian Navy this year. “Various projects of the Army, Navy, and Air Force are being discussed. We are actively involving ourselves in those discussions, and we are hoping good orders will come under emergency procurement also for us,” the management said during an investor call with analysts.

Out of the recently approved emergency procurement proposal for the armed forces after Operation Sindoor, BEL is confident of securing 8-10 orders, and would have more visibility on these in a week's time.

“We expect a minimum of 8 to 10 or more different line items immediately,” Manoj Jain, CMD, BEL said. “It may be a bit early now, but in another week or so, we should have a clearer estimate of which projects will be assigned to Bharat Electronics.”

BEL's Manoj Jain said the company is hopeful of getting around Rs 27,000 crore worth of additional orders this year. "So, if QRSAM comes through this year, we will cross Rs 50,000 crore in orders, otherwise also, a minimum of Rs 27,000 crore is expected this year," BEL said. For FY26, BEL is expecting the total order inflow to cross Rs 57,000 crore mark. The order book position of as of April 2025 stands at Rs 71,650 crore.

The management said it is confident of maintaining high margins for FY26 after it posted an 18 percent on year profit growth during the March quarter.

BEL said it will also be involved in the deployment of major sub-systems related to the Russian S-400 air defence system, which had played a key role in safeguarding Indian airspace during the border conflict with Pakistan earlier this month.

BEL said it is engaged in multiple discussions across all three services. “Various projects of the Army, Navy, and Air Force are being discussed. We are actively involving ourselves in those discussions, and we are hoping good orders will come under emergency procurement also for us,” said the chairman.
