Adani Power Ltd. has issued a Letter of Award (LoA) to Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL) for six thermal units of 800 MW, a stock exchange filing said on June 27.

According to the order, the state-run company will supply equipment and supervision of erection and commissioning for the six thermal units of 800MW.

The LoA includes steam turbine generator along with auxiliaries and supervision of the thermal units, the statement said, adding that the total order is estimated to cost around Rs 6,500 crore.

The BHEL stock closed at Rs 263.45, down 0.38 percent from previous day's close on NSE, while Adani Power ended 1.06 percent higher at Rs 584.25 from previous days close.

Meanwhile, in Q4 BHEL posted a 3% rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 504.45 crore in the March quarter compared to a year ago, mainly due to higher revenues from industry business.

The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 489.62 crore in the quarter ended on March 31, 2024.

Total income rose to Rs 9,142.64 crore in the fourth quarter against Rs 8,416.84 crore in the same period a year ago.
