The Indian rupee opened at 44.17 per dollar versus 44.17 yesterday.

Ssharad D Pawaar, SPFX India said that, "The rupee is likely to gain moderately as the dollar continues to be weak. The anticipated recovery in the domestic equity market may support the currency further. The range for the day is seen between 44.05 - 44.15/$."
