Here are expert equity calls for the day on how the markets are expected to trade:

Russell Napier, CLSA: US savings have begun funding the government as central banks retreat from Treasuries. This shift is starting to squeeze out private-sector activity and will only worsen. Investors need to start moving capital to safer shores like Singapore.

Sanjeev Prasad, Kotak Institutional Equities: We see a few positives in the Indian market but these may continue to be overshadowed by uncertain global environment. We have made few changes to our Model Portfolio given the recent volatility. Our 'intermediate' portfolio comprises of few defensives, select economy-agnostic stocks and companies with strong balance sheets and reasonable valuations.
