10 people injured in collision of two trains in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered concerned officials to implement immediate relief measures and send as many ambulances as possible and make all necessary arrangements at the nearby hospitals to provide good medical care.

The Chief Minister has also issued orders to coordinate other government departments including health, police and revenue to take quick-relief measures and ensure that the injured receive prompt medical services, Andhra Pradesh CMO

The death toll in the blasts at a religious gathering in Kalamassery near here increased to two with a woman, who suffered 90 percent burns in the incident, succumbing to her injuries, Kerala Health Minister Veena George said on Sunday.

Fifty-three-year-old Kumari, a native of Thodupuzha in Idukki district of the state, succumbed to the grievous burns suffered in the incident, the minister said.

One person died on the spot in the incident, which occurred in the morning, and 52 others were injured initially.

Of the 52, 18 were in ICUs and of them, six were in critical condition, George said. Of the six, three -- including a 12-year-old child and Kumari -- were suffering from over 90 percent burns, she said. The three were being treated in the ICU at the Kalamassery Medical College.

-- External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will pay a four-day visit to Portugal and Italy from Tuesday with an aim to further bolster India's bilateral ties with the two key European nations.

Kerala Police confirmed that the explosion that occurred at the religious group's convention centre in Kalamassery on Sunday (October 29) morning was indeed a bomb blast. They have verified that an improvised explosive device (IED) was employed for the explosions, several local media reports said.State Director General of Police (DGP) Shaik Darvesh Saheb, while speaking to the media, said that the initial investigation indicated the use of an IED device for the explosion.Multiple explosions occurred at a convention center during a Jehovah's Witnesses convention in Kalamassery, Kerala, resulting in the tragic loss of at least one life and causing injuries to 36 others.

An eight-member National Security Guard (NSG) team, including an officer, is on its way to Kerala to probe the bomb explosion that took place at a convention centre in Ernakulam. The team is expected to reach the bomb blast site by this evening.

On the blast at the International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Kalamassery, Kerala DGP Shaik Darvesh Saheb said that a special team will be constituted to probe the incident after he reaches the spot.

"We will be constituting a special team for this today itself after I reach the spot," he said. On being asked if there was any information regarding the blast, he says "There was no specific information"

Ernakulam District Collector NSK Umesh gave an update on the injured individuals, mentioning that out of the injured, 10 people have been admitted to the burns unit at Kalamassery Medical College.

Among these, two individuals with over 50 percent burns have been transferred to another hospital for specialised care.Additionally, eight people have been admitted to the general ward of the medical college, and the remaining 18 are under observation in various other hospitals. The identity of the woman who killed in the incident is not yet known, the Week reported.

Kerala BJP Chief K Surendran called the blast in state a "failure" of CM Pinarayi Vijayan's government.

"Heartbreaking news from Kalamassery, Kochi: A fatal blast at a Jehovah's Witnesses gathering has left one person dead and many critically injured during a prayer session. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. Nowadays, Kerala has become a state where attacks and explosions continuously occur in crowds. This is a failure of the state home department under the @pinarayivijayan Government," he said on X.

Kerala Industries Minister P Rajeev said that the blast site has been is cordoned off, and both the police and fire rescue teams are actively involved in responding to the situation. According to Rajeev, some of the injured individuals have sustained severe burns.

He also mentioned that the Kalamassery Medical College is well-equipped to provide all necessary medical assistance, and if needed, the injured can be transferred to other hospitals.As of now, there is no concrete information available regarding the cause of the blast or any potential individuals or groups responsible for it.

State Health Minister Veena George has urged government healthcare professionals to be on standby and ready to provide assistance in the aftermath of the explosion.

Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed his shock and concern over the reports of a blast at a Christian convention centre in Kerala during a religious gathering on Sunday (October 29) morning. He condemned the incident and described it as tragic to witness Kerala being affected by violence and destruction."I urge all religious leaders to united in condemning such barbarism and teaching their followers that violence archives nothing but more violence," the Thiruvananthapuram MP wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah speaks to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and takes stock of the situation after a blast took place at a convention centre, reports PTI citing sources.

-According to PTI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the anti-terror agencies NSG, NIA to send teams to Kerala to assist the state government after a blast at a convention centre.

-Following the explosion of an improvised explosive device during a Sunday (October 29) prayer meeting at the Jehovah Witnesses Church in Kalamassery, Kerala, counter-terror teams and the National Security Guards (NSG) have been sent to the scene.

-One person died and more than 20 were injured in the blast.People who were at the convention center said that the first explosion happened during a prayer session, at approximately 9:30 am.

-One person was killed and more than 20 were hurt in a blast at a convention centre of a Christian group in Kochi on October 29 morning, media reports said.

-The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation. Notably, the blast happened during a prayer meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses. High-ranking police officials, including the Kerala ATS, are present at the scene to assess the situation.

-Hamas's armed wing has said that it was ready to release the hostages if Israel freed all the Palestinians held in its prisons, reported AFP.

- It was another violent night across the occupied West Bank, with reports saying at least three Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire.

- Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that a young man was shot dead by Israeli forces during a raid in Askar camp in Nablus, in the northern West Bank.

- Another Palestinian was reported killed in Beit Rima, north of Ramallah, with the third killing taking place in Tammoun, in the Tubas governorate.

- Israeli air attacks have been intensifying in the north of the Gaza Strip in recent hours. There was an attack in Jabalia, in the north, and another one in Khan Younis, in the south.

- According to the health ministry, the attack in Khan Younis hit a residential building killing four people and wounding 20. Rescue teams are at the scene trying to pull survivors out alive.

- Meanwhile, Israeli artillery resumed the bombardment across the borderline and we’ve learned about clashes taking place between the Palestinian fighting groups and the Israeli forces.

- But what is going on is low-scale Israeli operations in different locations across the borderline. There is no [large-scale] ground invasion.

- The fighting groups say they have confronted until now all the Israeli troops across the borderline, from Rafah in the southern side of the Gaza Strip to Jabalia and Beit Hanoon in the northern side.

- Saudi Arabia's Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman Al Saud is expected to visit the White House on Monday for talks with officials in US President Joe Biden's administration, The Times of Israel reported citing American news website Axios.

- The meeting comes amid fears that the Israel-Hamas war could expand into a regional war.The Saudis on Saturday said that "any ground operation by Israel would threaten the lives of Palestinian civilians and result in inhumane dangers," according to a Saudi Foreign Ministry statement, The Times of Israel reported.
