Karisma's children got Rs 1,900 crore via trust, 'not left on the road', Sunjay Kapur's wife Priya tells court

Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's children - Samaira and Kiaan - have received assets worth Rs 1,900 crore under the RK Family Trust, lawyers representing late business tycoon Sunjay Kapur's wife Priya Sachdev have told the Delhi High Court, in response to a petition by them seeking share in their father's assets, in the ongoing inheritance saga of Sona Comstar's late chairman.

Priya Sachdev's submission before the high court said the two children were 'not left on the road', she has helped Karisma's children secure their Trust shares, defending the execution of Sunjay Kapur's will. Karisma Kapoor's children - represented through their mother - have alleged that Priya Kapur forged Sunjay Kapur's will to seize complete control of his assets.

"...So much of crying, six days before the will, the plaintiffs received Rs 1,900 crore under the trust worth of assets. I don't know how much is enough," CNBC-TV18 reported, quoting senior advocate Rajiv Nayar, representing Priya Sachdev in the court.

"Please have sympathy for a man who died while playing polo. Your husband and you left each other years ago… You were nowhere to be seen for the last 15 years," the report cited Priya's lawyer as saying, referring to Karisma and Sunjay's divorce in 2016.

The court further ordered Priya Sachdeva Kapur, Sunjay Kapur's widow, to submit a comprehensive inventory of all movable and immovable assets of the deceased.

The High Court bench has also ordered the plaintiffs to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before accessing the will. The court also issued a notice in the civil suit filed on behalf of Karisma Kapoor's two children - contesting Kapur's will and seeking a share of his estate - directing summons to defendant Priya Kapur to submit written statements in two weeks, and replies within one week thereafter.

No interim protection has been granted to the plaintiffs, and the matter is scheduled for next hearing on October 9.
