Maharatna PSU Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has posted a sharp 285 percent on-year jump in consolidated net profit for the second quarter of the financial year FY26 on October 27, despite a marginal increase in revenue.
The company's comprehensive income for Q2FY26 stood at Rs 7,705.25 crore compared with Rs 1,999.30 crore posted in the same period last year. IOC's total revenue stood at Rs 2.07 lakh crore during the July-September quarter, up 4 percent on year as against Rs 1.99 lakh crore posted in the same period last year.
Revenue from operations for the second quarter came in at Rs 2.06 lakh crore, up 3.9 percent from Rs 1.98 lakh crore a year ago.
Its net profit attributable to shareholders was at Rs 7,817.55 crore for the quarter that ended September as against Rs 169.58 crore in the same quarter last year.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) witnessed a 320 percent YoY jump during Q2 FY26 to Rs 16,899.7 crore. The figure stood at Rs 4,020.47 crore in the same period a year ago.
Its standalone net profit was Rs 6,753.77 crore in July-September, compared to Rs 2,849.23 crore earnings in the same period of the last year, according to a stock exchange filing by the company.
