Amit Ganatra, Head of Equities at Invesco Mutual Fund, is set to replace Roshi Jain as she steps away from HDFC Asset Management Company, people familiar with the development told Moneycontrol. Jain is Senior Fund Manager – Equities at HDFC AMC, a role she took on after joining the fund house in December 2021.
Jain previously spent 17 years at Franklin Templeton India AMC, and began her career in 2003 as an equity analyst with Goldman Sachs. She took charge of the HDFC Flexi Cap Fund in 2022 following the exit of then CIO and veteran fund manager Prashant Jain. The Flexi Cap Fund is one of HDFC AMC’s flagship strategies with an AUM of around Rs 90,000 crore. In addition, she manages the HDFC Focused Fund and HDFC ELSS Tax Saver Fund, which have a combined AUM of around Rs 40,000 crore.
Under her, the Flexi Cap Fund, currently the second-largest flexi cap fund by AUM, has delivered around 22% returns over three years, outperforming its benchmark, which returned about 16% over the same period.
Ganatra has served as Head of Equities at Invesco AMC (India) since 2022. Before that, he was a Senior Fund Manager at HDFC AMC between 2020 and 2022. His broader career includes an earlier 12-year stint at Invesco, along with roles at DBS Cholamandalam Mutual Fund and Fidelity.
At Invesco MF, Ganatra currently co-manages about eight key equity strategies, including the Invesco India Large & Mid Cap, Midcap, Flexi Cap, and Contra funds, together representing an AUM of roughly Rs 42,000 crore. Invesco MF's Flexi Cap Fund has an AUM of around Rs 4,380 crore. The Invesco India Flexi Cap Fund (Regular Plan) has delivered a 1.22% return year-to-date. Over the past one year, the fund returned 6.58% and on a three-year horizon, the fund generated a 21.86% return.
It could not be ascertained yet where Ganatra will be moving on to.
