Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of IT major Infosys, has launched a Rs 200-crore Infosys Springboard Livelihood Program aimed at enabling five lakh job seekers in India to secure employment by 2030.
As part of the programme, Infosys Springboard, the company’s digital learning platform, will provide skilling and career development opportunities beyond classroom training.
In FY25, the programme has already placed over 80,000 job seekers in various industries, the company said in a release.
Targeting both graduates and undergraduates, the initiative focuses on jobs across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and non-STEM sectors. It offers training in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, as well as skills in digital marketing, finance, and workplace competencies like communication, time management, and interview preparation.
Infosys Foundation has tied up with around 20 implementation partners, including ICT Academy, Unnati, Nirmaan, Magic Bus, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, Centum, CII Foundation and NIIT Foundation, to curate job opportunities and build career pathways.
“The big opportunity in our country is to focus on skilling initiatives to meet industry and AI-age demands, and then shape a path from learning to livelihood,” Sumit Virmani, Trustee, Infosys Foundation, said in the release.
The programme seeks to bridge the gap between learning and sustainable employment while contributing to economic growth, he said.
