A series of non-convertible debenture (NCD) issues are once again nudging investors. Such debt instruments, brought by non-banking finance companies or NBFCs, offer higher rate of interests in the range of 11.10%-12.25%. In a rising interest rate scenario, this apparently makes a case for investment especially when equity market shows no signs of stability.

NBFCs including Shriram Transport Finance, Shriram City Union, IIFL, Manappuram Finance, and Muthoot Finance have hit the NCD market to mop up funds in the last two months.
