India's largest air conditioning company Voltas is expected to report profit at Rs 56 crore in October-December quarter, up 4 percent compared with Rs 54 crore in year-ago period on operational performance.

Revenue during the quarter may fall 11 percent to Rs 1,171 crore compared with Rs 1,308 crore in same quarter last year, according to average of estimates of analysts polled by CNBC-TV18.

Operating profit is seen rising 9 percent year-on-year to Rs 63 crore and margin may expand 100 basis points to 5.4 percent in Q3, aided by MEP (electro-mechanical projects) business.

Increase in copper prices might hurt margin. Engineering business may continue to be volatile.

AC sales may be down around 15 percent YoY for the quarter due to demonetisation while international projects are seeing slow movement in execution.

Revenues growth may be impacted by weak UCP (unitary cooling product) segment on a high base.
