Tata Sponge Iron Dec quarter net jumps 2-fold at Rs 11 cr

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 5.25 crore in the year-ago period, Tata Sponge Iron said in a filing to BSE.

Tata Sponge Iron, an associate firm of Tata Steel, consolidated net profit doubled at Rs 10.9 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 5.25 crore in the year-ago period, Tata Sponge Iron said in a filing to BSE.

Total income from operations rose marginally by 1.9 percent to Rs 157.5 crore, over Rs 154.5 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Tata Sponge produces high-grade sponge iron that is consistent in quality. The company has an annual manufacturing capacity of 3,90,000 tonnes of sponge iron from its 3 kilns.
