Jio Platforms Ltd reported a 26% increase in quarterly profit at Rs 6,861 crore in the third quarter of FY25 from Rs 5,447 crore a year earlier.

Jio Platforms' revenue from operations rose 19.4 percent to Rs 33,074 crore in the December quarter from Rs 27,697 crore a year earlier.

EBITDA increased 18.8 percent to Rs 16,585 crore in the December quarter from Rs 13,955 crore a year ago, led by healthy revenue growth.

Jio’s ARPU rose to Rs 203.3 from Rs 195.1 in Q2 due to the tariff hike and a better subscriber mix. Jio said the full impact of the tariff hike is yet to play out fully.

Jio's subscriber base stood at 482.1 million at end of December 2024, 2.4 percent higher year-on-year. Net subscriber addition in Q3FY25 was 3.3 million with rebound in mobility subscriber addition.

Jio said customer addition has rebounded to pre-tariff-hike levels in the exit month after transient SIM consolidation.

“Robust growth in digital services business was led by sustained subscriber addition and consistent improvement in customer engagement metrics. This was well supported by a favorable subscriber mix, with an increasing number of users upgrading to 5G networks," said Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries.

"Jio’s compelling offering of home broadband services also continued to rapidly gain ground and maintain its pre-eminent market position," he added.

Jio said that the October-December quarter was a record quarter for home connects with 2 million new additions. JioAirFiber is rapidly growing to global leadership with a subscriber base of 4.5 million.

"JioAirFiber has transformed the broadband connectivity in the country, especially beyond the top 1,000 cities/towns. More than 70% of incremental JioAirFiber additions are coming from these previously underserved cities/ towns. Overall pace of home connect for Jio has continued to accelerate with total installed base of ~17 million," as per the official statement.

Jio is the world's leading standalone 5G operator (outside China) with a subscriber base of 170 million. "True5G accounts for 40% of Jio’s wireless traffic,"the statement read.

Jio reported industry-leading customer engagement with per capita data consumption of 32.3 GB per month, and total data traffic growth of 22.2 percent.
