Infosys Q4 Results 2025 Live: Kotak Institutional Equities expects revenue to fall 2.3% sequentially

"We forecast sequential revenue decline of 2.3 percent (as a result of) lower revenues from sale of third-party items for service delivery and seasonal weakness in demand. March quarter has been Achilles’ heel for Infosys," Kotak Institutional Equities said.

Kotak expects EBIT margins at 20.4 percent, largely unchanged from the previous quarter, as benefits from operational efficiencies are offset by furloughs and seasonal weakness.

In the absence of mega deals and amid global macro uncertainty, FY26 could be as muted — or worse —than FY25, Kotak said.

During the post-earnings call after the release of Q3 results in January, Infosys management had acknowledged the expectations of a weaker performance in Q4. The company enjoyed the benefits of higher third-party revenue contribution in Q3, which aided its overall topline growth. With the reversal of those benefits in Q4, combined with slight impact of furloughs and lower working days, the January-March quarter is likely to face some headwinds which are baked in the FY25 revenue growth guidance, the management said.

In addition to that, the first phase of the company's wage hike also came into effect from January 1 which will have an adverse impact on margins in Q4.

Infosys-rival Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) posted lower-than-expected Q4 numbers on weak demand and Trump tariff pressures. TCS’ consolidated net profit fell nearly 2 percent from the year-ago period to Rs 12,224 crore in Q4. Its consolidated revenue from operations rose 5.3 percent to Rs 64,479 crore.

Wipro reported a 6.4 percent sequential rise in net profit to Rs 3,569.6 crore for the quarter ended March 2025, while gross revenue rose marginally to Rs 22,504.2 crore. Wipro guided for Q1 FY26 IT services revenue in the range of $2,505 million to $2,557 million, implying a sequential decline of 1.5 to 3.5 percent in constant currency terms.
