RBI receives 85.64 % of total complaints through digital modes in FY23: Report

The number of complaints received under the Reserve Bank - Integrated Ombudsman Scheme (RB-IOS) rose 68.24 percent on-year to 703,544 in 2022-23, according to the RBI's annual report.

This is due to intense public awareness initiatives and the simplified process for lodging of complaints under RB-IOS, RBI said in a report.

Of the total complaints, 2,34,690 complaints were handled by the Offices of RBI Ombudsman (ORBIOs) and 4,68,854 complaints were disposed at the CRPC, report added.

RBI further reported that the ORBIOs maintained a healthy disposal rate of 97.99 percent during the year.

"Further, there was a significant decline in the number of complaints pending beyond 30 days, from 0.26 percent as on March 31, 2022 to 0.04 percent as on March 31, 2023," said RBI annual report.
