Neu, the Tata Group’s e-commerce entity, is set to enter the quick commerce segment with the launch of Neu Flash, The Economic Times reported on October 28.
The company will initially provide the ultra-fast service to select consumers of grocery, electronics and fashion, the report said, citing sources, and added that it will be expanded gradually.
BigBasket, which is moving to a quick commerce model, will power Neu Flash, while Croma will manage the electronics segment and Tata Cliq will see fashion and lifestyle products, the report said.
This move by the Mumbai-based group is the latest effort to tap the growing segment of online shoppers at a time when rivals Flipkart and Reliance Industries are also trying to enter the space.
Zomato’s Blinkit, Swiggy's Instamart and Zepto are the three dominant players with 85 percent market share in the quick commerce sector, the report said.
Moneycontrol could not independently verify the report.
In April, Moneycontrol had reported that Tata Digital’s super app Tata Neu had gone live with the food delivery category through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) in Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru.
