New skills, digital tech will enable a new world outlook: Rishad Premji

Over 2,500 delegates from tech companies across the globe will be discussing new age technology and investment into India. From the sidelines of the event, CNBC-TV18's Nithya Balakrishnan caught up with Rishad Premji, the Chief Strategy Officer and member of the board, Wipro.

India is hosting the World Congress on IT for the very first time, in partnership with the NASSCOM leadership forum and it is Hyderabad that's witnessing all the IT action. Over 2,500 delegates from tech companies across the globe will be discussing new age technology and investment into India. From the sidelines of the event, CNBC-TV18's Nithya Balakrishnan caught up with Rishad Premji, the Chief Strategy Officer and member of the board, Wipro.

It is very focused on the new world, new digital, new skills, new technologies and how we as a country can leverage that and grow with that and it is the next stage of growth for the technology industry in India, he said.

We had guided 7-8 percent and it should be broadly in-line with it, he added.

The economies of the world are picking up. I am quite optimistic about what that goes in terms of spend on technology as we move into next year, said Premji.
