Google India on Monday announced a new initiative 'Google Advantage' to provide deeper engagement to small and medium businesses (SMBs) who are looking to gain from the rising Internet user base in the country.

The initiative will entail Google hosting an offline symposium to educate SMBs on the benefits of Internet and also provide one-on-one consultation on how to use the latest online tools and technologies and meet their business objectives, the company said in a statement.

Last month Google had announced a major overhaul in its operating structure, and shuffled its office bearers in a bid to separate its core web advertising business from other "far afield" products, like driverless cars, Google X, Calico, Life Sciences. "Fundamentally, we believe this allows us more management scale, as we can run things independently that aren’t very related," Larry Page said, explaining the changes.
