Power trading firm GNA Energy on Friday launched its power intelligence platform, GNAi, at the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026 in New Delhi, as the country accelerates efforts to modernise its grid and expand clean energy capacity.

The summit, being held at Yashobhoomi from March 19 to 22, has drawn policymakers, industry leaders, investors and experts to discuss issues ranging from grid modernisation to energy transition.

In a written message read out at the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on global investors to “make, invest, innovate, and scale” in India’s power sector. Union minister Manohar Lal said the country has already met its target of 50% cumulative non-fossil fuel-based capacity ahead of schedule, adding that the sector could attract investments of around Rs 200 lakh crore over the next two decades.

Against this backdrop, GNA Energy’s newly launched platform aims to support a more decentralised and data-driven electricity ecosystem. The cloud-based software integrates inputs from smart meters, grid systems and weather data to provide analytics and forecasting tools for utilities, generators, regulators and market participants.

According to managing director Sanjeev Kumar, the platform uses machine learning and optimisation tools to deliver demand and generation forecasts, price projections, battery dispatch optimisation and procurement planning. It is also designed to support emerging applications such as peer-to-peer energy trading, demand response programmes and distributed energy resource integration.

The company said the platform is built on a microservices-based architecture that allows integration with legacy infrastructure as well as newer systems such as electric vehicle networks and smart meters. It also aligns with the Ministry of Power’s broader push toward creating a unified digital framework for the sector.

The launch follows GNA Energy’s rollout of Vidyut AI last month, an analytics engine designed to generate procurement insights and price signals using data from regulators, exchanges and grid operators. Together, the two platforms form part of the company’s strategy to build a data and intelligence layer for India’s evolving power markets.
