The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has fined IndiGo Rs 5 lakh for violating aviation security protocols.

The airline is reviewing the BCAS order, issued on November 27, and plans to appeal it to the relevant authority, according to a regulatory filing.

The fine is for a breach of aviation security protocols under Rule 51 of the Aircraft (Security) Rules, 2023, and related AVSEC orders.

AVSEC stands for aviation security.
