R Venkateswaran today took over as the Regional Executive Director (South) at the NTPC Southern Region headquarters.
Prior to this, Venkateswaran was Regional Executive Director of Eastern Region-II of NTPC at Bhubaneshwar in Odisha, NTPC said in a release.
A graduate in Electrical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering, Venkateswaran joined NTPC as an Engineering Executive Trainee in 1978. In a career span of over 32 years in the organisation, he had worked in various capacities at several plants across the country such as Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Station in Andhra Pradesh, Kahalgaon Super Thermal Power Project in Bihar, Rourkela Captive Power Station in Odisha and Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station in Andhra Pradesh.
"Venkateswaran has rich and varied experience in project management erection, commissioning and operation and maintenance of super thermal power plants. He had undergone training in Global Business Competency at Manchester Business School in UK. Besides, attending training programmes at several premier institutes in the country, he also visited Finland to attend the 23rd IPMA World Congress in 2009," the release said.
