Infrastructure developer Marg today said it bagged a Rs 37.66 crore worth project from wagon-maker Braithwaite & Co (BCL), thus marking its foray into fabrication of wagons.
Marg's industrial project division has bagged the order, which includes fabrication and assembly of 247 BTFLN wagons in the workshop of BCL including supply of components and consumables except raw steel, the company said in a statement issued.
The BTFLN wagons are an improved frameless bogie tanker wagons used primarily for liquid petroleum products and also for transport of vegetable oil and other liquid cargo.
The total timeframe for completion of this project of fabricating 247 wagons will be approximately seven months subject to timely availability of the raw steel, wheel set and dished ends, the release said.
"This order win marks our foray into the business of fabrication of railway wagons. Our EPC division brings in the best of technology and knowledge partners which will help us in this new venture," Marg Chairman and Managing Director GRK Reddy said.
Currently, the Marg Group has an order book worth over Rs 5,000 crore under execution, global partners in the infrastructure space and offices, spread across India, Singapore and China, the release said.
