Wipro appoints Shaji Farooq as Senior Vice President

IT major Wipro Technologies today said it has appointed Shaji Farooq as Senior Vice President for the company's newly created advanced technologies service line which will comprise social media, mobility, analytics-as-a-service and cloud.

Prior to joining Wipro, Shaji was heading Infosys' Consulting and Systems Integration across the FSI (Financial Services Industry) vertical.

"Developments in the sphere of social, mobility, analytics-as-a-service and cloud will have a significant impact on how business processes are transforming in the enterprise," Wipro Ltd CEO (IT Business) and Executive Director T K Kurien said in a statement.

Wipro is poised for accelerated growth in these new areas, under Shaji's leadership, he added.

Shaji will be responsible for the transformation of Wipro's go-to-market approach by bringing together its sales hunting, sales enablement and strategic marketing functions together, to build a unified approach and strategy. He has 24 years of professional experience and has 40 technology patents to his credit.
