Suzlon bags 8.4 mw project in Gujarat
Wind turbine maker Suzlon today said it has bagged a contract from Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) to set up a 8.4 MW project in Gujarat. The company will have to set up, operate and maintain a 8.4 MW project, which comprises of four units of Suzlon's S95-2.1 MW turbines, a statement issued here said.

Wind turbine maker Suzlon today said it has bagged a contract from Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) to set up a 8.4 MW project in Gujarat. The company will have to set up, operate and maintain a 8.4 MW project, which comprises of four units of Suzlon's S95-2.1 MW turbines, a statement issued here said.
"Suzlon is partnering with SMC for the second time helping it to fulfil its commitment towards being an environmentally responsible civic body," Suzlon Energy chief executive for India operations Rohit Modi said. The new project will augment SMC's existing wind power portfolio to 11.4 MW. Once commissioned, the project will help SMC to reduce its carbon footprint by eliminating around 15,000 tones of CO2 emissions per-annum, the release said.The company had supplied a maiden 3 MW wind power project in 2010 for the SMC in Adodar, Gujarat. The fifth-largest turbine maker, with an installed capacity of over 1.5 GW, has also built the largest wind farm in the country in Kutch. We see Suzlon as a long-term partner in our green energy endeavors.
