Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash Ambani on Wednesday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, describing it as pivotal in steering India's digital transformation.

Speaking at the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, held at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, Ambani said India is "lucky to have a leader like PM Modi," whose vision has defined the country's technological and economic journey over the past 25 years.

Reflecting on India's rapid digital evolution, Ambani highlighted how the IMC showcased the country's expanding technological ecosystem - from semiconductors and artificial intelligence to fraud prevention and the emerging 6G landscape.

He said the event captured India's growing strength across the entire digital value chain and reaffirmed the commitment of Indian enterprises to driving innovation.

"Today, we witnessed the full spectrum of technologies - from chip manufacturing to fraud management systems and the next generation of wireless connectivity," Ambani said. "It's a proud moment for India's tech ecosystem, and we look forward to ensuring the nation remains at the forefront of the global digital revolution."

Ambani added that the India Mobile Congress exemplifies the country's progress toward becoming a global innovation hub, driven by the combined efforts of startups, academia, and industry leaders. "What we saw today is a reflection of how far India has come and the kind of future it is shaping," he noted.

Meanwhile, SP Kochhar, Director General of the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), said the IMC's inauguration marked a new phase in India's journey toward advanced connectivity and digital inclusion. He said the Prime Minister's address underscored the government's commitment to strengthening communication infrastructure and curbing telecom-related fraud through coordinated industry efforts.

"India's technological progress is in capable hands," Kochhar said. "With enhanced connectivity reaching remote regions and continuous focus on security, innovation, and collaboration, the country is well-positioned to sustain its momentum as a global digital-first economy."
