Air India CEO Campbell Wilson will step down as Chairman of Air India Express. He will be replaced by Air India's Chief Commercial Officer, Nipun Aggarwal, who already serves on the Air India Express board.
Aggarwal will continue his responsibilities as CCO of Air India while assuming the chairmanship of the budget carrier.
Wilson, who has chaired Air India Express since June 2022, will also vacate his seat on the airline’s board.
To further streamline operations across the group, Capt Basil Kwauk, Air India’s Chief Operations Officer, will join the Air India Express board once regulatory approvals are in place, replacing Wilson.
Wilson noted that with the foundational restructuring now largely complete, the focus will shift to fully optimising the group’s fleet, network, sales, distribution, and loyalty assets.
