For the first time, Davos has dedicated an AI house on its promenade to stimulate debate around the ethics of artificial intelligence (AI).

The World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos is packed with technology and information technology (IT) companies, with artificial intelligence (AI) at the top of their agenda in the snowcapped Alps town. For the first time, Davos has dedicated an AI house on its promenade to stimulate debate around the ethics of artificial intelligence (AI).

Some of the tech and IT companies hosting pavilions at the WEF in Davos include Qualcomm, Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Tech, and Wipro.

“Artificial Intelligence as a Driving Force for the Economy and Society” is a major theme at Davos 2024, with 29 sessions and two press conferences set aside for sessions revolving around AI.

Prominent leaders from the tech and IT world will address the sessions including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, Accenture CEO Julie Sweet, DeepLearning.AI founder Andrew Ng, IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, Google President and CIO Ruth Porat, Meta's Global Affairs president Nick Clegg, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh, and many more.

Some of the questions that WEF aims to find this year are: how AI can be used to benefit all, how is the divergent regulatory landscape balancing innovation with societal risks? how will AI interface with other transformative technologies, including 5/6G, quantum computing and biotechnology?
