A total of 100 candidates filed their nomination papers on the first day of nomination on November 3 for the upcoming assembly polls in Telangana.
Telangana PCC president A Revanth Reddy (Kodangal) and Tummala Nageswara Rao (Khammam) were among those who filed nominations on November 3.
The Election Commission of India issued a notification for Telangana Assembly polls to be held on November 30, which was published in Telangana Gazette.
According to the notification, the nomination filing process for the poll began and they would be accepted from 11am to 3pm on working days till November 10.
The nominations would be scrutinized on November 13, while November 15 is the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures, according to the schedule of the election.
Polling would be held on November 30 and counting of votes would be taken up on December 3.
Polling would begin at 5am and end at 5pm, barring some places where it ends at 4pm. Only three vehicles are allowed in the candidate’s convoy within the periphery of 100 meters to the Returning Officer’s office at the time of filing nomination, while only five people including the contesting candidate are allowed inside the RO’s room.
Along with nomination, the candidate has to file an affidavit in Form-26 declaring information about his or her criminal antecedents, assets, liabilities, and educational qualifications.
