Akanksha is tired of dating apps. Her parents want her to get married, but she's not finding the "right one" through the matrimonial apps. A lot of you may wonder what exactly does the phrase the "right one" really means. Well, you know, since she is going for an arranged marriage, she has a checklist. The guy should be from a tier 1 college, should be a vegetarian, should be someone who thrives on adventure and so on.
Typically, a lot of people will attest to it also that when a person has a checklist, it is kind of hard to find someone who meets all the criterion. This explains why Akanksha signed up on dating apps with the notion that in informal arrangements, it may click with someone organically. However, to no vain. It is only now that Akanksha has subscribed to the dating trend of 'love-loreing' wherein she now goes on dates with absolutely no expectations and she seems to be liking it.
Well, this is what the latest dating trend 'love-loreing' is all about. "Love-loreing is a dating trend that breaks the stereotype that you can only date people who meet all your parameters on your checklist. It is all about being yourself on a date, talking to different types of people, see where it goes instead of burdening the equation with the question of 'where things will go from here?'," shared relationship expert Ruchi Ruuh with Moneycontrol.
This trend is the reason why a lot of people are writing bios on dating apps that talk about 'Here for the plot', 'Let's make stories, not just check boxes', 'for the story' and so on. Ruuh too is of the opinion that it will do people a lot of good if they don't strictly go by the checklist. "It's helping people form connections in a more organic way. Instead of obsessing about if the other person is the one, this trend is all about living in the moment and seeing where things go without feeling any sort of pressure," highlighted Ruuh.
When relationships are explored with genuine curiosity, they tend to flourish and there are simply no two ways about it. It gives a chance to people to hear out the other person, empathise more with them and connect with them in an authentic manner.
However, like everything else in the world, one should strive for a balance. While it is okay to take it easy, be open to meeting new people who may not be necessarily one's type, but what it more important is look for compatibility. "A lot of times two people can get along to a certain extent, but they may not have a future together. So, this is why, at some point a person needs to ask certain questions to themselves and see they don't end up spending too much time with a person who's just there to pass time," cautioned Ruuh.
