The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has officially announced the results for the State Level Selection Test (SLST) for assistant teachers in classes 11 and 12. The result marks an important step towards filling approximately 13,000 teaching vacancies in state-run and state-aided schools across the state.
Candidates who appeared for the examination can now check their outcomes on the official WBSSC website. Aspirants can access their results directly by visiting the official WBSSC portal: westbengalssc.com. It is advised to have your login credentials ready to streamline the process.
West Bengal Education Minister Bratya Basu heralded the announcement, emphasizing the transparent manner in which the examination was conducted. He stated that this declaration brings new hope to thousands of candidates.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Minister Basu credited Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the initiative. He affirmed, "the result is not just an administrative step but will materialise the possibility of new recruitment by December." He further pledged the state government's commitment to ensuring every subsequent step in the recruitment process remains transparent and bound by rules.

What's Next for Qualified Candidates?
Clearing the written SLST exam is the first major hurdle. Successful candidates will now advance to the next stage: the interview process.
Interview Round: This stage will rigorously evaluate candidates' pedagogical skills, in-depth subject knowledge, and communication abilities—all essential competencies for an effective educator.
Final Merit List: Following the interviews, a final merit list will be prepared. This list will be based on the combined scores from both the written test and the interview.
Document Verification: Candidates who make it to the final merit list will then be required to undergo document verification. They must present original educational certificates, mark sheets, and valid identity proofs before their appointments are confirmed.
The SLST for classes 11-12 was conducted on September 14, witnessing a massive turnout of over 2.29 lakh candidates. This recruitment drive is being closely watched as it follows the Supreme Court's verdict on April 1, which led to the termination of around 26,000 teachers.
Candidates are advised to regularly check the official WBSSC website for further updates regarding the interview schedule and subsequent steps.
