WBSSC Recruitment 2025 Registration begins for 8,477 vacancies; direct link to apply here

The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has started the online registration process for recruitment to 8,477 non-teaching posts under the 1st State Level Selection Test (SLST) 2025. The vacancies are for Group C (Clerk) and Group D roles in government aided and sponsored schools across West Bengal.

The online application window opened on 3 November 2025 and will remain active until 3 December 2025. Candidates are advised to complete their registration, upload documents, and pay the required fee before the deadline. The written examination is expected to take place in January 2026, and the exact date will be announced later.

Vacancy Details

A total of 8,477 vacancies have been announced as part of the WBSSC SLST 2025 recruitment:

• Group C (Clerk) – 2,989 posts
• Group D (Support staff such as Peon, Laboratory Attendant, etc.) – 5,488 posts

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 1 January 2025):

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 40 years

Age relaxation applies as per state government rules, SC/ST candidates get a 5-year relaxation, OBC candidates 3 years, and PwD candidates 8 years.

Educational Qualification:

• Group C (Clerk): Must have passed the Madhyamik (10th) or equivalent examination, or Higher Secondary in lieu of School Final.
• Group D: Must have passed Class VIII or equivalent from a recognised board.

Some posts, such as Librarian, may require higher qualifications like a Bachelor’s degree.
