UPSC CDS Result 2025

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results for the Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) 1, 2025. A total of 365 successful candidates have made it to the final merit list and have been recommended for admission to the esteemed Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), and Air Force Academy (AFA).

Candidates who successfully cleared the written examination and the subsequent Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews can now check their status and access the final merit list on the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.

The UPSC revealed that it had initially recommended 2,560, 942, and 636 candidates in the written test for the IMA, INA, and AFA, respectively. The final number of 365 reflects those who successfully navigated the rigorous SSB interviews conducted by the Army Headquarters.

Next Steps for Qualified Candidates

Aspiring officers must note several critical points following the declaration of the results:

Provisional Candidature: The commission has explicitly stated that the verification of date of birth and educational qualifications of the qualifying candidates is still underway by the Army Headquarters. Therefore, the candidature of all recommended candidates is provisional.

Document Submission: Qualified candidates are requested to promptly forward their original certificates, along with attested photocopies, to prove their Date of Birth and Educational qualifications. These documents must be sent to the respective service headquarters (Army, Navy, or Air Force) as per their first choice of academy.

Medical Examination: The UPSC clarified that the published merit list has been prepared without taking the results of the Medical Examination into account. Candidates must ensure they meet the strict medical standards of their chosen service.
