The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has postponed its recruitment examination, which was earlier scheduled for October 5, 2025. The announcement was made by Commission CEO G.S. Martolia, who confirmed that the decision came in response to repeated requests from candidates. He further added that the fresh exam date will be notified soon.
The postponement comes in the wake of the recent UKSSSC exam paper leak scandal, which has sparked widespread outrage and concerns over the integrity of the recruitment process.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while addressing the issue, assured that his government is committed to ensuring fairness. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Dhami stated that as soon as the irregularities surfaced, the accused were arrested and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to probe the incident.
“We are committed to ensuring that the youth of Uttarakhand do not face injustice,” CM Dhami said.
Taking a dig at rival parties, the Chief Minister accused the opposition of attempting to politicise the issue. He alleged that opposition leaders were using students as a shield to create unrest in the state.
“The opposition, which once raised doubts about CBI and ED inquiries, is now demanding a CBI investigation into this matter for political mileage,” Dhami remarked.
Dhami also revealed that he had personally met with students to hear their grievances. He assured them that a CBI inquiry would be ordered and their legitimate demands would be fulfilled.
Highlighting the government’s efforts to curb malpractice, CM Dhami stressed that Uttarakhand has implemented India’s strictest anti-cheating law.
Over the past four years, more than 25,000 youths have secured government jobs, while over 100 members of cheating mafias have been jailed under this law. “All these steps have been taken to protect the future of Uttarakhand’s youth and ensure transparent recruitment,” Dhami stated.
The UKSSSC graduate-level competitive examination 2025 has drawn sharp criticism after allegations of malpractice. The state government has now launched a judicially supervised probe into the entire recruitment process to restore confidence among aspirants.
With the exam postponed and investigations underway, candidates are awaiting clarity on the new exam schedule, while the government continues to face pressure to uphold transparency in recruitment.
