The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has announced the results for the Group-I Services Main Examination 2024. A total of 562 candidates have been provisionally selected for appointment to various top administrative positions within the state government.

The selection list fills the vast majority of the 563 vacancies originally notified under Recruitment Notification No. 02/2024. However, one vacancy has been temporarily withheld in compliance with interim orders from the High Court of Telangana.

The Commission conducted the Group-I Mains examination in the conventional (pen-and-paper) mode between October 21 and October 27, 2024. The current provisional selection list is based on the General Ranking List (GRL) that was published on March 30, 2025, followed by a certificate verification process.

Aspiring candidates can now check the list of selected hall ticket numbers for the 18 different post codes on the official TGPSC website.

Next Steps for Selected Candidates

The TGPSC has issued a notification clarifying that the results are provisional and subject to the outcome of several pending legal cases, including Writ Appeal No. 1066 of 2025 and other related petitions before the High Court.

The Commission explicitly stated that this provisional selection does not guarantee an appointment. The final appointment will be contingent upon the appointing authority's satisfaction with a candidate's character, antecedents, and physical fitness. Selected individuals will be required to produce all necessary original documents for verification at the time of their formal appointment.

The TGPSC Group-I examination is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and competitive state-level competitive exams in India. It serves as the primary recruitment channel for coveted administrative posts in the Telangana state government, including roles like Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police, and Commercial Tax Officer, among others.
