The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Junior Engineer (JE) Examination 2025. A total of 1,340 vacancies will be filled for Junior Engineer posts in Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical disciplines across various Central Government departments, ministries, and organisations. The recruitment notification is now available on the official website www.ssc.gov.in, and the application process has started.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 30 June 2025. The last date to submit the application form is 21 July 2025 (up to 11 PM). It is advised to complete the registration well before the deadline to avoid any last-minute issues.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) 2025 exam, candidates must meet the basic educational and age-related requirements. Applicants must have a Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a recognised university or institution. This qualification is essential for all candidates, regardless of the department or post they are applying for.
In terms of age, the upper age limit depends on the organisation. For most posts, the maximum age is 30 years as of 1st January 2026. However, for positions in the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), the upper age limit is slightly higher, set at 32 years. Candidates are advised to carefully check the official notification for any category-wise age relaxation or additional eligibility conditions.

The application fee structure for SSC JE 2025 is simple. Female candidates, ex-servicemen, and those belonging to reserved categories are exempt from paying any fee. This means they can apply for the exam free of cost. On the other hand, candidates from the General and other unreserved categories will need to pay a fee of Rs. 100.
