JPSC JET 2025 Notification Released at jpsc.gov.in; Application begins September 16

JPSC has released the JET 2025 notification for Assistant Professor and Ph.D eligibility. Applications to open on 16 September at jpsc.gov.in.

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released the official notification for the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) 2025. The notification was published on 9 September 2025 under Advertisement No. 08/2025 and is available on the commission’s website, www.jpsc.gov.in.

The Jharkhand Eligibility Test is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor and for admission into Ph.D programmes in universities and colleges across Jharkhand. Candidates who wish to apply for either of these must appear for the test.

Application Process

The online application window will open on 16 September 2025. Interested candidates must submit their applications through the official website. Only those who apply online will be allowed to appear for the examination. The test will be conducted in offline mode using OMR sheets.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • General/EWS Category: Minimum 55% marks in Master’s degree from a UGC-recognised university.
  • Reserved Categories (SC, ST, BC-I, BC-II, PwBD): Minimum 50% marks in Master’s degree. This relaxation is only for permanent residents of Jharkhand.
  • Final Year Students: May apply provisionally. They must obtain the required marks within two years of result declaration.
  • Ph.D. Holders: A 5% relaxation is given if the Master’s degree was completed on or before 19 September 1991.
  • Age Limit: Candidates must be at least 21 years old. There is no upper age limit.

Exam Pattern

The JET 2025 will assess teaching and research aptitude along with subject knowledge. The exam will be held in a single session of three hours without any breaks. It consists of two compulsory papers:

  • Mode: Offline (OMR sheets)
  • Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Duration: 3 hours
  • Total Questions: 150
  • Total Marks: 300
  • Marking Scheme: +2 marks for each correct answer
  • Negative Marking: None
