The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released a revised notification for the Clerk Recruitment 2025. The number of vacancies has now been increased to 13,533. Earlier, IBPS had announced 10,277 posts for this year. The update comes after a review of staffing needs in various public sector banks across the country.
The IBPS Clerk Preliminary Examination was held on 4 and 5 October 2025. The results are expected to be declared soon on the official website, ibps.in. Candidates who clear the prelims will be eligible to appear for the mains examination, which will determine the final merit list.
Revised vacancies across states
There has been a noticeable increase in posts for several states. Uttar Pradesh has recorded the highest jump, from 1,315 to 2,346 vacancies. Bihar has also received a major boost, rising from 308 to 748 posts. West Bengal saw an increase from 540 to 992. However, Delhi’s vacancies have reduced from 416 to 279.

Other states, including Punjab, Odisha and Telangana, have also seen an increase. With this revision, IBPS has ensured improvement in regional representation for this recruitment cycle.
Selection process
The IBPS Clerk selection procedure includes two online examinations, Preliminary and Mains. In some states, candidates may also have to undergo a Local Language Proficiency Test. Those who have studied the regional language in Class 10 or above are exempt from this test.

Salary details
The starting salary for IBPS Clerks is Rs 24,050 per month. With allowances such as House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance and Special Allowance, the pay can go up to Rs 64,480 over time.
