IB Security Assistant MT Recruitment: Registration begins for 455 vacancies; direct link to apply here

The Intelligence Bureau (IB), functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has opened applications for 455 vacancies in the Security Assistant (Motor Transport) cadre. The recruitment drive aims to strengthen the operational mobility of the agency’s field units across the country. The online application process commenced today and will close at 11:59 pm on September 28, 2025.

The 455 posts are spread across various Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaux (SIBs) in multiple states and Union Territories. The official notification provides a detailed breakdown of vacancies by region, enabling candidates to apply for their preferred location.

• Educational Qualification: Passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognised board.
• Driving Licence: A valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) licence.
• Experience: At least one year of driving experience after obtaining the licence.
• The age limit is 18 to 27 years as on September 28, 2025. Age relaxations apply for SC, ST, OBC, and other eligible categories as per central government rules.

The recruitment will be conducted in two stages:

• Tier‑I: Objective‑type written examination to test general awareness, reasoning, and basic knowledge relevant to the role.
• Tier‑II: Descriptive/written examination focusing on practical knowledge and job‑specific skills.

Candidates who clear both tiers will be shortlisted for document verification and medical examination before final appointment.

Selected candidates will be placed in the Level‑3 pay matrix (Rs 21,700 – Rs 69,100) along with central government allowances such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, and Transport Allowance. Additional benefits include medical facilities, pension under the National Pension System (NPS), and leave entitlements.

The fee comprises an Examination Fee and Recruitment Processing Charges. Payment can be made via debit/credit card, internet banking, UPI, or SBI challan. The fee is non refundable under any circumstances.
