The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has announced the examination schedule for the Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment drive. The preliminary written examination is now confirmed to be held across two days in January 2026, marking a crucial step in filling 1,799 vacancies in the state police force.

Official Exam Dates & Shift Timings

As per the detailed notification published on the commission's official website, bpssc.bihar.gov.in, the preliminary exam will be conducted on:

  • January 18, 2026 (Sunday)
  • January 21, 2026 (Wednesday)

The examination will be held in two shifts each day to accommodate the large number of candidates. The timing for each shift is as follows:

First Shift: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Second Shift: 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Candidates will have a duration of two hours to complete their paper.

The BPSSC will release the e-admit cards for the preliminary examination online. Candidates must download their hall tickets from the official portal as physical copies will not be sent.

Mandatory Documents for Exam Day

On the day of the examination, candidates must carry the following documents to their allotted center:

  • A printed copy of the e-admit card.
  • A valid original photo ID proof (Voter ID, Passport, Driving License, PAN card, or Aadhaar card).

Important Note: If the photograph on the e-admit card is unclear or missing, candidates are advised to carry two passport-sized photographs identical to the one submitted with the application form.

In case candidates face issues downloading their admit card, the BPSSC has provided a contingency measure. A duplicate e-admit card can be obtained by personally visiting the commission's office at 5, Harding Road, Patna-800001, between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM on January 9, 2026. Visitors must bring a photocopy of their application form and a valid photo ID card. Please note that this service will be provided at the candidate's own expense.

Step 4. Log in using your registered credentials (like Registration Number/Date of Birth).
