General Queries

I have created a portfolio with Moneycontrol.com, but I have not received dividend/bonus/split for the stocks in my portfolio. What should I do?

Dividend/Bonus/Split entries in your account are processed automatically when you add/edit or sell particular stock/mutual fund. These transactions are also processed automatically on the scheduled date for your holding in the portfolio. If you find any issues in the entry, then

  1. Go to the transaction list of the stock

  2. Select any historic buy transaction and click on edit

  3. Save the entry (you need not change any details)

  4. Any discrepancy should be sorted out automatically

  5. If you are still facing any issues, do write back to us

Moneycontrol.com portfolio is an investment tracking tool. Moneycontrol.com does not hold stocks on your behalf. You will have to get in touch with your broker, in case dividend, bonus/split etc. are not received in your bank/demat account.

Ideally, dividend money should come directly into your bank account from the company, or the stock giving dividend. Sometimes, the broker may keep your stocks in the pool account, following which the money would come to you via the broker themselves. You should select your broker in such a way that the money comes directly to your bank account, in order to avoid such a scenario.
