Zoya Akhtar expresses her desire to direct THIS film of Shah Rukh Khan, deets inside

Zoya Aktar reflects on her wish of working with Shah Rukh Khan

Director Zoya Akhtar, known for her remarkable works including Ranveer Singh, starrer Gully Boy, has recently shared thoughts on filmmaking. She has recently appeared on the Game Changers podcast hosted by film trade analyst Komal Nahta and shared which film she would have directed if she had had an opportunity.

During a rapid-fire round at the Game Changers podcast, Zoya was asked if she wished to choose any one film between Pathaan and Jawan to direct, which one would that be. Without any second thoughts, Zoya said, Jawan.

Interestingly, both Pathaan and Jawan feature Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role and became blockbusters in 2023. Both films grossed massive box office numbers and also received critical acclamation.

Meanwhile, Zoya last directed the Amazon Prime series Made in Heaven Season 2. The series stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, Jim Sarbh and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles and instantly became fans’ favourite. The series is yet to be renewed by the makers.

However, Zoya has also produced the upcoming film Superboys Of Malegaon. The film is directed by Reema Kagti and features an ensemble cast including, Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora. The film follows the journey of an aspiring filmmaker as he bands together his group of friends to make a film for his town, Malegaon. Superboys Of Malegaon is scheduled to release on February 28, 2025.
